1 Obtain a filter matching the exact model
The Fiat Punto exists in several generations and trims. Check for the correct part using the chassis number, year of manufacture, and the dimensions of the old filter; some basic models do not have a cabin filter installed.
2 Locate the filter housing
Depending on the version, access is under the passenger glove box, on the side of the center console, or under the plastic cover at the base of the windshield. Refer to the manual for your generation and do not force the plastic.
3 Remove the old filter
Unscrew or unclip the narrow cover, note the AIR FLOW arrow, and carefully pull out the filter. Place a paper sheet underneath as dust and leaves often fall out of the housing.
4 Clean the housing
Vacuum up accessible dirt without pushing the attachment deep towards the blower motor. Ensure the drain in the intake area is not clogged with leaves.
⚠ Warning: Do not spray perfume, disinfectant, or water directly into the housing with the blower running; the liquid can reach the electronics.
5 Position the new filter in the correct direction
Gently flex the filter only as much as the frame allows, align the arrow with the airflow direction, and replace the cover. Turn on the ventilation and check the airflow and for any unusual noises.
? Tip: An active carbon filter reduces traffic odors and particulates better, but it also needs to be replaced regularly.
