1 Prepare for Safe Work

Ventilate the space, put on gloves, and test the cleaning agent on a hidden spot first. Don’t mix products and protect children, pets, textiles, and sensitive surfaces.

⚠ Warning: If the cause is water intrusion, a burst pipe, or a large cold spot, cleaning alone won’t solve the problem.

2 Move the Furniture and Assess the Surface

Wear a mask and don’t scrape dry mold. Check if the wall is cold, wet, or damaged by water intrusion.

3 Clean the Wall Based on Finish Type

Gently wash painted walls and treat with one appropriate cleaner. Porous, soft, or crumbly material may need to be removed.

4 Change the Conditions Behind the Cabinet

Leave at least a few centimeters of space, allow air to circulate, and maintain stable temperature and humidity.

? Tip: Take a photo of the initial state and change only one thing at a time. That way you’ll know which fix actually made the difference.

5 Reassemble, Test, and Know Your Limits

Remove any cleaner residue according to the instructions, dry the surface, and inspect it in daylight. If the stain, smell, or moisture returns quickly, look for the root cause instead of repeating stronger treatments.
