⚠ Safety note: This guide involves working with electricity. If you're not completely sure about every step, stop and call a licensed professional. Before you start, always switch off the power at the breaker or close the main water/gas valve.
1 Prepare for safe work
Ventilate the room, put on gloves, and test the cleaner on a hidden area first. Do not mix products and protect children, pets, textiles, and sensitive surfaces.
⚠ Warning: Turn off a cracked cooktop immediately at the breaker and do not use it; liquid can reach live parts.
2 Switch off and allow the cooktop to cool
Remove the pot and wait for the heat indicator to disappear. Treat melted plastic or sugar according to the manufacturer’s specific instructions.
3 Apply a glass-ceramic cleaner
Put a small amount on the cold cooktop and soften the deposit without an abrasive sponge.
4 Use a scraper at a shallow angle
Guide the dedicated scraper almost parallel to the glass, without pressure on the edge. Finish with a clean damp, then dry cloth.
? Tip: Photograph the initial state and change only one thing at a time so you know which check really affected the problem.
5 Assemble, test, and set a boundary
Remove cleaner residue according to instructions, dry the surface, and inspect it in daylight. If the stain, odor, or moisture returns quickly, search for the source of the problem instead of repeating a stronger treatment.
When to call a professional: If the job involves changes to the electrical panel, the main gas line, or load-bearing walls/beams — or if you're not sure how it will turn out — this is not a DIY task. Hire a licensed professional.
